Major in Entrepreneurship: Information and Requirements
Entrepreneurship is a management and leadership major for business students in undergraduate and graduate programs. An entrepreneurship major applies business, finance and management principles to starting or owning a business.
What is an Entrepreneurship Major?
Business students in an associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degree program may choose an entrepreneurship major, which combines management, marketing, finance and accounting with an emphasis on business ownership, either of a startup or an existing business. Many schools emphasize this major for students who wish to one day own their own business or have plans to take over a family business. Business majors who plan on applying for jobs on the open market may major in a program such as accounting, management, marketing or finance.
Part-time entrepreneurship programs target business management students on the path to owning a family-operated business, who may already be employed or apprenticed in the family venture. Online and weekend-only programs are available.
