Market segmentation is one of the fundamental steps of a proper marketing strategy and marketing. Is the process of dividing a market into distinct groups of buyers that require different products or combinations of media marketing.

A key to success in the market today is to find subtle differences to make a trade to achieve the balance and start to profit.

Businesses that target specific markets promote their products more effectively and maintain more effective if they target the business customer “means” or more massive market, trying to be “all for all” (one of the cardinal sins if one wishes to succeed in the long term business).

The trade opportunities increase when segmented groups of customers with various needs are recognized. Markets can be divided into segments or point to a target using various factors. The basis for dividing a consumer market segments include:
· Bases demographic (age, what composes the family life cycle, occupation)
· Bases geography (states, regions, countries)
· Bases of behavior (product knowledge, use, attitudes, responses)
· Bases psychological (lifestyle, values, personality)

A business must analyze the needs and desires of various market segments before determining their own place. To be effective in market segmentation keep in mind the following:

· The target segments of the market and should be accessible to business.
· Each segmented group must be large enough to provide a solid customer base and cost effective.
· Each segmented group requires a specific marketing plan.
